Klik OTT introduces an intriguing new web series, “Followers”. The story revolves around Hia, a popular TV actress who gets entangled in the dangerous world of social media while trying to boost her follower count. What begins as a seemingly harmless plan takes a dark turn leading to unexpected consequences.

A Social Media Obsession Turns Fatal

Hia who is the lead actress of the hit TV show “Lakshmi”, becomes obsessed with gaining followers on social media. Under the guidance of Soumya, her social media manager, she devises a shocking strategy, fake her own death. As per their plan, Hia retreats to a secluded island for three days while the news of her "death" spreads like wildfire online.

However this move backfires. Anindya, a devoted admirer who truly loves Hia is disgusted by her desperate attempts to chase fame. He blames Soumya for exploiting Hia and criticises the toxic culture of online validation.

Family Conflicts and Betrayal

Hia’s brother Pallab is equally disheartened by her actions. He not only distances himself from her but also plots to claim her inheritance, further complicating her life. Despite mounting opposition Hia remains resolute in her quest for more followers unaware that her obsession is leading her toward a tragic end.

A Mysterious Murder and a Detective’s Challenge

Hia is found dead and the case falls into the hands of local police officer Anukul Barman. Anukul who is unfamiliar with the complexities of the digital world must navigate the tangled web of lies, jealousy and betrayal to uncover the truth. Who is the real culprit.? Is it someone from Hia’s close circle or is the murderer lurking in the vast anonymity of the internet.?

Cast and Crew

The series boasts a stellar cast including Santilal Mukherjee, Indrashish Roy, Sohini Guha Roy, Amlan Majumdar, Samiul Alam and Sandy. The story, screenplay and dialogues are penned by Amlan Majumdar, while Rajdeep Ghosh helms the project as director.
