A single controversy has turned everything upside down for comedian and internet star Samay Raina. His name is now linked to a major scandal surrounding a YouTube reality show. While acknowledging that times are tough for him Samay responded in his signature style reminding everyone that his name itself means ‘time.’

The Controversy: What Happened.?

The controversy started from a YouTube show called “India’s Got Latent” which Samay Raina was hosting and had reportedly conceptualised. During one of the episodes fellow internet personality and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps) made highly inappropriate remarks to a contestant.

Ranveer asked a contestant a shocking question

“Would you rather watch your parents engage in intercourse daily, or participate once to stop it forever.?”

His remarks stunned the audience including Samay Raina. However Ranveer didn’t stop there. He continued to make explicit comments even discussing the contestant’s private parts which sparked an outrage.

Legal Troubles & Backlash

The public outrage was immediate. Several legal complaints were filed in different states and the case even reached the Supreme Court. Authorities summoned Samay Raina for questioning despite him being visibly uncomfortable during the episode.

Samay later removed the controversial episode along with all other India’s Got Latent videos. Ranveer Allahbadia also issued a public apology but the controversy refuses to die down.

Samay Raina’s Response in Canada

While on a stand-up tour in Canada, a fan observed that Samay looked visibly stressed but still interacted with the audience. The fan later shared their experience online (before deleting the post) describing Samay as

- Looking exhausted with dark circles under his eyes.

- Wearing a messy black hoodie and looking emotionally drained.

- Holding the mic and jokingly saying

  “Thanks for paying my lawyer’s fees.”

During the show Samay sarcastically remarked

“If you think I’m saying something funny, just remember BeerBiceps.”

At the end of his set he made an emotional statement

“Maybe my time is bad right now. But remember my name is also ‘Samay’ (Time).”
