She was returning home by bus after attending an event when 20 year old Mateusz Hepa also on the bus targeted her. Hepa lured Wiktoria to his apartment, where she fell asleep unaware of the impending danger.

In a shocking twist Mateusz claimed in court that he tossed a coin to decide her fate. Heads meant death tails meant life. Unfortunately the coin landed on heads.

After assaulting Wiktoria Hepa tied her hands and feet suffocated her to death and desecrated her lifeless body. He later wrapped her remains in plastic and considered burning them. However he ultimately reported the crime to the police himself.
