As seismic activity continues to rise worldwide scientists have issued alarming warnings about an impending mega-earthquake that could cause widespread destruction and significant loss of life. The latest tremors in Delhi and Greece have heightened fears with experts closely monitoring regions prone to major quakes.


Delhi Tremors Spark Panic

On Monday morning, residents of Delhi NCR woke up to strong tremors at 5:37 AM. The earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale had its epicenter just 5 km below ground level in New Delhi according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). 

- Many people rushed out of their homes in fear.

- Tall buildings shook for several seconds.

- Birds and animals showed unusual behaviour before the quake.

This comes shortly after a deadly stampede at a railway station in Delhi adding to the city's sense of fear and uncertainty.


Thousands of Earthquakes in Just Two Weeks

One of the most alarming cases of frequent seismic activity is being reported from Greece’s Santorini region where 8,000 earthquakes have been recorded in just 15 days....!

- The tremors have led to a state of emergency in Santorini a popular tourist destination.

- Experts warn that the area might be on the verge of a major seismic event.

Istanbul at Risk...! Scientists Warn of Impending Disaster

According to Dr. Marco Bohnhoff from the German Research Centre for Geosciences history suggests that Istanbul experiences a major earthquake every 250 years.

- The last major earthquake in Istanbul was in 1766.

- If history repeats itself, the city is overdue for another powerful quake.

- A massive earthquake could cause thousands of buildings to collapse, leading to catastrophic damage.

Seismologists including Dr. Naci Gorur have warned that millions of people in Istanbul are at risk if an earthquake strikes.


Istanbul’s Infrastructure Not Ready for a Major Earthquake

- Yıldız Technical University geologist Prof. Sukru Ersarac warns that Istanbul is not earthquake-resistant.

- Turkish Minister of Urban Development Murat Kurum has admitted that the city's infrastructure cannot withstand a powerful quake.
