The recent Israeli military operation in the northern West Bank specifically in Jenin and Tulkarm has raised alarms about potential mass displacement. Basheer Matahen a spokesperson for the Jenin municipality, likened the current situation to what transpired in Gaza, stating, “Jenin is a repeat of what happened in Jabalia. The camp has become uninhabitable.”

Hassan Al-Katib an 85-year-old resident who fled the Jenin camp with his family, accused Israel of attempting to erase the memory and identity of Palestinian refugees. “They want to erase the camps and the name of refugees from people’s memory,” he said.
