India has allowed the export of rice to Bangladesh

Dhaka: Bangladesh Government has prepared to increase food supply in the country. India approve to export 50 thousand metric tons of Non-Basmati boiled rice by the open tender process. Therefore Bangladesh have to 282 crore, 96 lakh taka.

A meeting of the Advisory Council of the Interim Government was held under the chairmanship of Salehuddin Ahmed at the secretariat in Dhaka. According to the report, in the financial year 2024-2025, the 'Economic Affairs Advisory Council Committee' has been allowed to import 5 lakh metric tons of rice from international sources for the urgent needs of the people of the country.

According to sources, Bangladesh has already submitted 5 tenders to import parboiled rice from India. It will total cost around 2 crore 35 lakh 80 thousand dollars to 50 thousand tons of Indian parboiled rice at 471.60 US dollars per metric ton, the amount in Bangladeshi currency is about 282 crore 96 lakh taka, which means the price of 1kg rice is 56 taka 59 paisa.
