A heart breaking accident near Jadavpur 8B Bus Stand on Tuesday morning claimed the life of a young mother, leaving her 3 year old daughter and husband devastated. While the mother passed away on the spot the child remains unaware of her loss and keeps asking “Where's Mama.?” The family has accused the police of negligence and delaying their response.

Tragic Morning Turns Fatal

The incident occurred at around today 6:30 AM when Debashree Mondal (28) a resident of Santoshpur was on her way to drop her daughter off at school. She was riding pillion on her husband’s bike when a speeding government bus on the S-31 route rammed into their vehicle near the Jadavpur 8B Bus Stand. The collision caused her to fall and get crushed under the bus.

The father a temporary employee at the Kolkata Municipal Corporation suffered severe injuries and is currently in critical condition at EDF Hospital. Miraculously the 3 year old daughter survived with minor injuries.

Child’s Innocent Plea Amid Grief

Despite the tragic loss the young child remains unaware of the gravity of the situation. She continues to call out for her mother asking, “Where’s Mama.?” The family expressed deep concern for her mental state stating, “She doesn’t understand what has happened. She’s terrified and keeps looking for her mother.”

Family Alleges Police Negligence

The grieving family has raised serious allegations against the police claiming a lack of cooperation and insensitivity. They stated, “We’ve been requesting the police to register an FIR and provide CCTV footage of the accident, but they refuse to assist. The duty officer isn’t even talking to us properly. It took four hours just to retrieve the mother’s body from the station.”

They further added, “This delay and negligence are unacceptable. Our loss is immeasurable and we hope no one else has to go through this.”

Driver Still at Large

The driver of the bus fled the scene immediately after the accident and remains absconding. The authorities have launched a search operation to locate him.
