In a horrific road accident near Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh a private bus carrying 26 passengers collided with a dumper truck late at night, leading to the death of four people and severe injuries to 22 others. The accident occurred around 11:15 PM when the bus en route from Tirupati to Trichy lost control and overturned after the collision.

The Incident

The tragic accident happened when a dumper truck rammed into the passenger loaded bus causing it to overturn on the busy highway. According to initial police reports the collision was a result of negligence on the part of the truck driver.

The injured were immediately rushed to CMC Hospital in Vellore where their condition remains critical. Emergency services worked through the night to rescue passengers trapped inside the overturned bus.

Driver Fled the Scene

Following the accident the truck driver fled the scene leaving, the authorities to register a case under Section 106 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend the driver.

Official Response

District Collector and senior officials visited the accident site and directed medical teams to ensure proper treatment for the injured. Local police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident and preliminary findings point to the truck driver’s negligence.

Eyewitness Account

One of the survivors recounted the moment of the collision

- “The truck came out of nowhere and hit our bus at high speed. Everything happened so fast, and the next thing we knew, the bus had flipped over. It was terrifying.”
