Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha strongly criticised both the UPA and NDA governments for failing to reduce unemployment in India. During the ongoing Budget Session in Parliament he stated that neither the previous Congress-led UPA government nor the current BJP-led NDA government has successfully addressed the country’s employment crisis.

Rahul Gandhi’s Sharp Attack on Job Crisis

During the Lok Sabha debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address, Rahul Gandhi took a direct dig at both past and present governments, questioning their failure to create enough jobs. He said: 

- “UPA couldn’t solve the problem, and even NDA has failed to provide jobs to the youth.”

Budget Session & The Growing Concerns

- The Budget Session began with President Draupadi Murmu’s speech, followed by the Union Budget presentation by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday.

- In his speech on Monday, Rahul Gandhi emphasised that India’s youth should decide the country's future and their concerns about employment must be addressed.

Slow Growth & Unresolved Issues

Rahul acknowledged that India has seen economic progress, but the rate of growth has slowed down. However he pointed out that despite this progress the unemployment crisis remains unsolved.

He further criticised the repetitive nature of speeches in Parliament saying that every year, the President’s address sounds similar, lacking a realistic approach to addressing pressing issues.
