Fire Breaks Out at Maha Kumbh Pilgrim Camp

A major fire broke out at the Maha Kumbh Mela causing panic among thousands of devotees. The incident occurred in Sector 18 specifically at the Hariharanand Camp. Firefighters rushed to the scene and after intense efforts the blaze was brought under control.

This tragic news comes just two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a holy dip at the Kumbh Mela. Despite heightened security following recent tragedies another disaster has struck the sacred event.

Fire Erupts at Shankaracharya Marg, Camps Evacuated

On Friday around 11 AM a sudden fire broke out in Sector 18 near Shankaracharya Marg. Black smoke filled the sky creating panic among pilgrims. Authorities swiftly evacuated multiple camps to ensure safety. Firefighters worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading, and within a short time, the flames were contained.

This fire is just the latest in a string of tragic incidents at the ongoing Kumbh Mela

- Vasant Panchami Balloon Tragedy (Monday): A helium balloon explosion in Sector 20 caused severe injuries to six devotees who fell from a great height.

- Mouni Amavasya Stampede: A massive stampede during the sacred bathing ritual led to multiple deaths and injuries. Although official reports state 30 fatalities, eyewitnesses and opposition parties claim the number is much higher. Many people remain missing and several families are grieving the loss of their loved ones.

- Allegations of Water Contamination: Actress and politician Jaya Bachchan raised serious concerns about water pollution at the Kumbh Mela. She claimed that bodies disposed of in the river have severely contaminated the water, yet authorities remain silent on the issue.
