In a surprising turn of events five students from a private school in Chhattisgarh planned a bomb explosion in their school's washroom. Their motive.? To ‘teach a lesson’ to a teacher they disliked. However the plan went horribly wrong when a 9 year old girl was seriously injured due to the blast.

According to police reports this shocking incident took place last week at a private school in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The accused - five students from classes 8 and 9 including three girls - orchestrated the plan after learning bomb-making techniques online.

The students reportedly placed a large piece of sodium inside the school washroom’s cistern. As soon as water touched the sodium, a sudden explosion occurred injuring a young girl who happened to use the toilet at that moment. The blast caused a loud noise, prompting teachers and staff to rush to the scene, only to find the injured girl locked inside the washroom.

Investigation

Police have detained four of the five students involved and sent them to a rehabilitation home. The fifth student currently at a relative's house is expected to be taken into custody soon and presented before the Juvenile Justice Board.

District education officials along with the heads of several schools are now investigating the incident. According to SP Rajneesh Singh CCTV footage clearly shows the five students sneaking into the washroom and placing the sodium.

Shocking Motive

The investigation reveals that the students were extremely upset with a particular teacher’s behaviour. Determined to take revenge they decided to use a chemical explosion as a form of ‘punishment.’ One of the students ordered the sodium online using a relative’s account, and the group strategically placed it inside the washroom’s water tank, hoping for a blast once someone flushed.
