India bids farewell to one of the most respected statesmen and reformists Dr. Manmohan Singh. The former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was known for his steadfast belief in democracy and economic growth for the country, he passed away at the age of 92. Manmohan Singh's health deteriorated on Thursday evening leading to his admission to AIIMS, Delhi, where he succumbed despite.

As a Prime Minister of India (2004 to 2014) Singh presided over significant economic growth with India achieving a GDP growth rate of 9% in the year 2007. Under his leadership India emerged as the second fastest growing economy in the world.
