This incident happened last Friday late night, chaos erupted at Howrah Station's new complex when a man climbed up to a stationary train and was electrocuted by 25 thousand high voltage wires. The tragic scene left passengers in shock and the authorities rushed to his aid.
Incident Details
The time was around 12:30 AM on Platform 17 of Howrah Station a man climbed up to the roof of the stationary train ‘Yeshvantpur Express’. Moments later, he came into contact with high voltage overhead electric wire, leading to a massive electric shock. Witnesses described seeing his body engulfed in flames, creating a horrifying scene.
Swift Action by Authorities
On duty RPF officers quickly responded using fire extinguishers to douse the flames.
Railway police and emergency services were arrived at the scene immediately.
The injured man was rushed to the Howrah District Hospital's burn unit for treatment.
Victim’s Identity and Condition
The injured man's identified as Mr. Shambhu Kumar Yadav, age 37 years old, he is a resident of Bokaro, Jharkhand. Initial investigations suggest he may have been mentally unstable person. His family was notified and later transferred him to a hospital in Bokaro for further care.
