Bengal continues to experience a chilly weather as temperatures drop further. Kolkata’s night temperature hovers around 13°C while western districts report temperatures close to 10°C. However a western disturbance entering India may cause temperatures to rise slightly from upcoming Sunday.

According to the weather office reports that the western disturbance entering the country today, might disrupt the flow of cold northern winds. This phenomenon could temporarily halt the plunge in mercury levels.

A jet stream wind is being active over North India with cyclonic systems positioned over Uttar Pradesh, Assam adjacent areas and the southeast Bay of Bengal near the Kerala coast.
West Bengal Forecast
- Kolkata & Southern Districts: Light mist observed in parts of South Bengal including East and West Bardhaman, Birbhum and Murshidabad. Temperatures will remain steady on Friday with a slight rise expected at night.
- Northern Districts: Chilly conditions persist across North Bengal with minimal fog compared to earlier days. Light to moderate snowfall is likely in higher altitudes.
