According to sources a married man and a married woman had been in an extramarital relationship for five years. The affair had grown so intense that they had discussed divorcing their respective spouse to start a life together. However their plans took a dark turn, when they decided to end their lives by consuming poison.

The woman claims that while she followed through with the pact the man backed out at the last moment. After recovering from the ordeal she discovered that he had blocked her on all social media platforms and cut off all contact. Spotting him near the book fair she decided to confront him leading to the public spectacle.

The man on the other hand alleged that the woman had been demanding Rs 3 lakh from him which he refused to pay. The police have confirmed that both individuals were involved in an extramarital relationship and have called them to the station for further questioning.
