Police Training Leftovers Turn Tragic...! Bomb Explosion Severely Injures Two Teens.

top-news

In Basirhat's Baduria area two teenagers, aged 10 and 15 were critically injured when a bomb exploded. Mistaking by a ball, which is not a ball, the boys accidentally triggered the device. One of them had to be shifted to a Kolkata hospital for advanced treatment, leaving the community in shock because of this incident.

Context

The incident occurred in the Arbelia region of Basirhat under Baduria Police Station. According to reports a 10 year old boy found a suspicious object in an open field used earlier for police firearm training. Unaware of the danger he carried it to his 15 year old friend. While inspecting it, the bomb exploded leaving both severely injured.

Local residents rushed the boys to Basirhat Super Specialty Hospital. Due to worsening conditions the younger boy was transferred to Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

Police sources reveal that the field was previously used for joint training exercises by the Matia, Swarupnagar and Baduria police departments. However questions are being raised about how such hazardous materials were left behind after the training ended.

Investigation Underway

The Baduria Police have started an investigation into the incident. Residents are criticising the negligence, questioning why explosive materials were abandoned in a public space. The matter has raised serious safety concerns in the community.

Related Incident

In a separate event last Friday a dilapidated Anganwadi center in the Bharatgarh Panchayat of Basanti Block collapsed injuring a cook and four children. Residents alleged that the center was in a hazardous condition since Cyclone Amphan. Complaints of unsafe facilities, including the lack of clean water, proper cooking equipment and security had been ignored for years.

These back to back incidents highlight the pressing need for safety protocols and infrastructure improvements. Authorities must ensure such negligence does not endanger innocent lives in the future.
