Health Condition of Partha Chatterjee Remains Critical Despite Infection Control.

Partha Chatterjee’s health remains unstable despite some improvement in his lung infection. The former minister currently under treatment at a private hospital in Mukundapur, is suffering from kidney issues and electrolyte imbalance, causing further complications.
Context
- According to hospital sources, Partha Chatterjee’s sodium and potassium levels are fluctuating, making his condition more challenging.
- He remains in a semi-conscious state and the medical team is struggling to ensure proper nutrition as he has lost appetite.
- Previously reports suggested that he suffered a mild heart attack.
Partha Chatterjee arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in July 2022 for alleged involvement in a recruitment scam has been in judicial custody since then. Despite multiple bail applications the court has denied his release.
On January 20th he fell ill in jail and was transferred to SSKM Hospital for treatment. However dissatisfied with the treatment there, he appealed to be shifted to a private hospital. Following a court order he was admitted to a private facility in Mukundapur.

A three-member medical board led by Dr. Sauren Panja along with cardiologist Dr. Anup Khaitan and nephrologist Dr. Pratik Das is overseeing his treatment.
Although his lung infection is under control, Chatterjee’s overall health has not improved significantly. Doctors continue to monitor his condition closely.
