A horrifying incident unfolded in Domohani, Maynaguri, Jalpaiguri where a man killed his mother and severely injured his elder brother following a heated argument over tea and puffed rice. The incident has left the entire area in shock.

According to local sources, the family had been experiencing internal conflicts for some time. The accused, Bapi Roy, allegedly harboured resentment believing that his mother favoured his elder brother Dilip Roy more than him. This simmering anger erupted into violence on Sunday afternoon.
The argument broke out around 1 PM soon after the family had finished their meal. The dispute started over who would get tea and puffed rice first. The minor disagreement quickly escalated and Bapi in a fit of rage attacked his brother Dilip with a sharp weapon leaving him severely injured.
The situation took a deadly turn when Bapi turned on his mother Suniti Roy. He allegedly slashed her throat, killing her on the spot. Neighbours rushed the injured Dilip and his mother to a local hospital, where doctors declared Suniti Roy dead. Dilip Roy, gravely wounded was shifted to Jalpaiguri Super Specialty Hospital for further treatment.
Police Investigation
The Maynaguri police promptly arrived at the scene arresting Bapi Roy. Authorities have sealed the house for further investigation and the deceased’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The police have launched a thorough inquiry to uncover the full details behind this tragic event.
