Winter is gradually fading away making room for rising temperatures. Over the next 4 to 5 days South Bengal will experience dry weather, while North Bengal's Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri may witness scattered rainfall. Meteorologists predict a steady rise in temperatures starting next week with Kolkata's temperature hovering around 20°C (minimum) and 30°C (maximum) for the next two days.


South Bengal Weather Update

- Dry weather is expected across South Bengal for the next 4 to 5 days.

- No significant chances of rain.

- Temperatures will remain stable for four days before gradually increasing.

- By the end of the week, the temperature may rise by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.

- Meteorologists expect both minimum and maximum temperatures to go up.


North Bengal Weather Update

- Light rain is likely in the hilly areas of North Bengal including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri.

- Higher regions of Darjeeling may experience mild snowfall.

- Dense fog may cover parts of North Bengal.

- Another spell of rain is expected in Darjeeling and Kalimpong hills on Friday.

Kolkata Weather Forecast

- Clear skies will dominate Kolkata’s weather.

- No rain expected for now.

- Dry weather will keep temperatures steady till Wednesday.

- A slight temperature rise is expected from Thursday onwards.

- Weekend temperatures will range between 24-25°C (minimum) and above 30°C (maximum).


As winter retreats, both South and North Bengal are preparing for a rise in temperatures. While South Bengal remains dry hilly areas in the north may get some rain and light snowfall. Kolkata's weather will stay clear but warmer days are ahead. With temperatures set to climb residents are advised to brace for the early summer heat.
