The year 2025 just starts and it has brings heightened concerns about infectious diseases due to falling vaccination rates and policy changes. With the importance of public health it has under the spotlight, experts warn of the increasing risk of outbreaks in both familiar and new diseases.
1. Bird Flu
Overview: Bird flu cases in human beings increased in the year of 2024 with over 60 reported cases globally, including a severe case in the US.
Current Risk: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) considers the public health risk low with no conformation about one human to the another human transmission in the United States. However, the experts urge vigilance as the disease could spread further, especially if containment efforts remain inadequate.
2. Measles
