Holy Shab-E-Barat on Upcoming 14th February 2025

The Islamic Foundation has declared that the moon for the Holy Shaban month of the year 1446 in the Hijri calendar was not sighted anywhere in Bangladesh today. Therefore the month of Rajab will complete 30 days on 31st January (tomorrow Friday) and from 1st February (Saturday), the Holy Shaban month will begin.

As a result, the sacred night of Shab-E-Barat will be observed on the night of 14th February (Friday).


Context

The meeting which was chaired by Dr A.F.M Khalid Hossain Advisor to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, reviewed reports regarding the sighting of the moon for the Holy Shaban month. The data came from district administrations, the Islamic Foundation’s central office, divisional and district offices, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department and the Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Institute.
