Hamas Confirms Release of Six Israeli Hostages Under Ceasefire Deal

Hamas’s armed wing Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades has confirmed that it will release six Israeli hostages held in Gaza on Saturday February 22nd, 2025. This move is part of an ongoing ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
In a statement on Friday Hamas assured that the hostage release would take place as scheduled marking a significant step in negotiations between both sides.
Who Are the Hostages.?
Earlier this week the Hostages and Missing Families Forum an Israeli campaign group revealed the names of the six hostages set to be freed. They are,
- Eliya Cohen
- Tal Shoham
- Omer Shem Tov
- Omer Wenkert
- Hisham Al-Sayed
- Avera Mengistu
These individuals were among those captured in Gaza and their release is seen as a crucial step in the ongoing peace talks.
