Chilling Twist in Kolkata Murder...! Woman Killed, Money Withdrawn from Her Account by Niece in Law

top-news

A spine-chilling murder mystery has sent shockwaves through Kolkata as new revelations emerge. The brutal murder of Sumita Ghosh has taken a sinister financial turn with investigators suspecting a plot not just driven by rage but also by greed. Shockingly even after Sumita’s death a significant amount of money was withdrawn from her bank account and gold jewellery was ordered using her funds.

Was the Murder Driven by Money.?

According to police reports Sumita Ghosh, who had ancestral property in Jorhat, Assam was targeted by her niece in law, Falguni and her mother. They were allegedly aware of Sumita’s wealth - her gold, cash and property - and meticulously planned to seize it all. Investigators now believe that the murder may have stemmed not only from family disputes but also from a well-planned scheme to misappropriate Sumita's money.

The Shocking Bank Transaction

The investigation revealed that on February 11th, Sumita had visited Falguni’s rented house in Madhyamgram. The next day, after Sumita was murdered Falguni reportedly withdrew Rs 25,000 from Sumita’s account. Subsequently she went to Bowbazar and ordered gold jewellery worth Rs 50,000.

But how did Falguni gain access to Sumita’s bank account.? The police disclosed that Sumita had approximately Rs 3.5 lakh in her account. Interestingly a few days prior to the murder, Sumita had asked Falguni to change the password for her debit card. This crucial detail gave Falguni direct access to Sumita’s funds.

Was It a Sudden Rage or a Pre-Planned Murder.?

Adding another layer to the case, police are now probing whether the murder happened in a sudden fit of rage during a family argument or if it was a cold-blooded plan to kill Sumita for her money. Notably, Falguni had filed a cybercrime complaint at the Madhyamgram police station which investigators are examining to see if there’s any link between the password change and the subsequent murder.

Police Investigation Continues
