Bengali Passengers Face Harassment on Train in Uttar Pradesh, No Help from RPF

Bengali passengers traveling on the Shipra Express had a terrifying experience when their train entered Uttar Pradesh. A large crowd forcefully entered the AC compartment leading to chaos and alleged harassment. Passengers reported losing valuables including laptops and claimed that even after informing the Railway Protection Force (RPF) but no action was taken.


Incident Details

According to reports a group of passengers was returning from Bhopal when their train entered Uttar Pradesh. Suddenly a huge crowd stormed into the AC compartment leading to commotion and physical altercations. The passengers allege that there was no security presence at that time making them vulnerable to theft and assault.


What Happened.?

Passengers claim that a group of people boarded from Pathuria station forcefully taking their seats while claiming to be pilgrims. When the passengers protested an argument broke out. Shortly after the intruders left and passengers discovered that their laptops and other valuables were missing.

The affected passengers also allege that the RPF officers present at the station took bribes from the intruding crowd and used batons to open the locked compartments allowing them to enter. When the passengers resisted they were allegedly beaten by the RPF officers.

No Response from Authorities

Despite repeated attempts to report the incident via railway helpline numbers and toll-free complaint lines passengers received no assistance. They were left in fear throughout the night raising serious concerns about railway security for confirmed ticket holders in AC coaches.


Railway Safety Under Scrutiny

This shocking incident has once again raised questions about the safety of train passengers, especially those traveling with reserved tickets in premium compartments. While the Indian Railways promotes helpline numbers and security measures, the lack of action in this case has left travellers feeling unprotected and helpless.
