A mild earthquake struck Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand on Friday evening with its epicenter located in Nepal’s Chapari region. The tremors were felt around 7:15 PM. According to the Richter scale the earthquake recorded a magnitude of 3.5.

The tremors were reported in Pithoragarh especially in the Dharchula area causing brief panic among residents. However there were no reports of casualties or significant property damage. Authorities have confirmed that the earthquake’s intensity remained low preventing any major destruction.

The epicenter was identified in Chapari, Nepal a region prone to seismic activities. This recent quake comes just days after Delhi experienced tremors early in the morning measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale.
