The case which began with the arrest of civic volunteer Sanjay Roy has seen intense legal battles, public protests and unanswered questions.

A Timeline of Events

Discovery of the Incident

On August 9th, 2024 the lifeless body of a young female doctor was discovered at RG Kar Medical College. The gruesome crime raised immediate questions about the identity of the perpetrators and their motives.

Initial Arrest

Kolkata Police swiftly arrested Sanjay Roy a civic volunteer as a suspect in the case. However this was just the beginning of a series of twists and turns.

CBI Investigation and Court Battles

The case was later transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as the High Court and Supreme Court got involved. After 5 months and 9 days of relentless efforts including witness statements, forensic analysis and legal scrutiny the Sealdah Court is now set to deliver its final judgment.

Public Uproar and Protests

The tragedy sparked widespread public outrage with junior doctors and citizens rallying for justice.

- August 14th, 2024: Protests erupted at RG Kar Medical College leading to clashes and widespread damage.

- Mass Movement: The agitation spread from cities to villages uniting people across Bengal in a fight against injustice.

- October 21th, 2024: Junior doctors ended their hunger strike after a lengthy meeting with the Chief Minister. Despite this frustrations remained over perceived delays in justice.

Key Developments in the Case
